MetaVerse

The word “metaverse”, implying an alternative universe in cyberspace, probably comes from Neal Stephenson’s novel “Snow Crash”. Stephenson’s metaverse differs in many ways from PlanetThereia, but there are some important similarities too:

• The planet is mostly empty,
• The builders put a large proportion of their effort into the way avatars express emotions and interact with each other.
